A line and stylistic edit focuses on how your writing reads at sentence level: the rhythm, clarity, and tone of the prose.
This edit is about refinement rather than rewriting. I’ll work carefully through the manuscript to smooth awkward phrasing, tighten sentences, and improve flow, while preserving your individual voice and intent.
My Approach
What you’ll receive:
Your manuscript edited in Microsoft Word (or a word processor of your choice) using tracked changes
Margin comments explaining key editorial decisions
A virtual (or in-person, where location allows) meeting to talk through the edit and address any follow-up questions
What I’ll focus on:
Sentence clarity and flow
Voice, tone, and consistency
Dialogue and interior prose (where applicable)
Repetition, rhythm, and word choice
Stylistic coherence across the manuscript

Line editing is a collaborative process. My aim is to strengthen the writing without imposing a house style or flattening your voice, helping you understand the reasoning behind key changes so you can apply those principles going forward.
